Building Commissioning

Several components make up the building as a system. Building envelope and mechanical equipment must act together to form a complex environment - a single system that can produce a comfortable and healthy indoor environment for the occupants. If one component is installed improperly in relationship to the system, the building's owner pays the price in higher energy bills, reduced comfort, increased maintenance costs, reduced service life or indoor air quality problems.

Contractors traditionally use a component-based approach to new or retrofit construction. The General focuses the project on a systems-based approach to help owners realize their goals of energy consumption, thermal comfort, pollutant control, and durability.

The General has been commissioning residential and small commercial projects for consumers throughout Michigan and Northern Indiana since 1995. Before you begin your construction new or retro project, call The General for a free telephone consultation.
